$0 license · not free SaaS

Free financial consolidation software — $0 MIT license, honest about the rest.

Konsolidat is free financial consolidation software in the only sense that matters for open source: the self-hosted edition has no license fee and no per-user charge under MIT. You still pay infrastructure and ops. Hosted starts from $3,500/month. A 4-week pilot starts from $25,000. If you want “free forever SaaS,” that is not this product.

The split

Free of license ≠ free to operate.

What is free

  • MIT license — $0, no per-user fee, no seat true-up
  • Full source on GitHub — inspect, fork, extend
  • Statutory consolidation engine (IC, NCI, CTA), allocations, budgeting, =EPM()

What you still pay

  • Cloud or on-prem infra (ClickHouse, Frappe, Airbyte) — typically low five figures/year
  • ~0.3–1 FTE to operate a self-hosted stack
  • Hosted (from $3,500/mo) and pilot (from $25,000) if you do not want to run it

Vs “free” Excel

Excel is free. Group close in Excel is not.

The expensive part of DIY consolidation is not Microsoft 365. It is the person who understands the 80 workbooks, the IC matrix that breaks at month-end, and the audit trail that does not exist. Konsolidat puts that engine in version-controlled SQL, still queried from Excel.
